Creating Active Schools (CAS)

At Carlton J&I School, we believe that being active is essential for our children's health, happiness, and learning.  As part of the Creating Active Schools initiative, we are working to build a school culture where movement is a natural and enjoyable part of every day.

We provide a wide range of opportunities for children to be active throughout the school day - including active lessons, energising breaktimes through OPAL Play, fun extracurricular clubs, and support for active travel to and from school.  We encourage all pupils to develop positive attitudes towards physical activity, helping them build healthy habits for life. 

By involving staff, pupils, parents and our wider community, we are creating a positive and active environment where every child can thrive-physically, mentally and socially.
