At Carlton J&I School, we value the importance of Early Years Education as the beginning of a child's learning journey throughout school. Our Foundation Stage is made up of a 76-place nursery (38 places in a morning and 38 places in an afternoon) and a 60-place reception intake which is split into two classes.

We are a very committed and highly motivated team that strives to provide the very best opportunities for your children to become the very best they can be.

To apply for a nursery place please complete the attached form and return it to the school office or email to headteacher@carlton.wakefield.sch.uk

30-hour Free Entitlement

Your free 30-hours entitlement must be used during our normal nursery hours of 8.30am to 3.15pm (for example: this will cover Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 3.15pm and Friday 8.30am to 11.30am). If you wish your child to attend Friday afternoon, this will be an additional charge of 3hrs 45mins (see charges below) and must be booked and paid for in advance on ParentPay.

Lunch will not be provided, therefore please send your child(ren) with a healthy packed lunch (no nuts), ensuring they have their names clearly marked on their lunch bag or alternatively, a school dinner can be booked and paid for via Feeding Hungry Minds.

We offer wraparound care on site, breakfast club and after school care. This can be booked and paid for, in advance, through ParentPay.

HMRC Tax-Free Childcare

When using your tax-free childcare account to pay for breakfast club and/or after school wraparound care, please send a screen shot of the amount you have transferred to the childcare provider i.e. South Elmsall Carlton Junior and Infant School - Carlton Road, South Elmsall, Pontefract, WF92QQ, to wraparound@carlton.wakefield.sch.uk and please specify which item you would like the money to go to i.e. breakfast club and/or wraparound.
