Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). At Carlton Junior & Infants School we recognise the importance of early years education as the foundation of every child's learning journey. Our aim is to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel happy, confident and ready to learn. Learning in EYFS is largely play-based, supported by skilled adults who carefully plan experiences to support children’s development across all areas of learning.
Our Foundation Stage includes a 76-place Nursery (38 morning 38 afternoon places-16 of these are reserved for our 30-hour offer) and a 60-place reception intake, organised into two classes. We are a committed and highly motivated team who strive to provide the very best opportunities for children to develop independence, curiosity and a love of learning.
We value strong partnerships with parents and believe that by working together, we can ensure every child makes a positive and successful start to school life.
