Admissions
How to apply for a Nursery Place at Carlton J&I School
If you would like your child to attend our Nursery, you can register by completing the form below, alternatively you can collect a form at the school office. Once the application form is completed and returned to the school office, your child will be added to our waiting list. We will contact you the term before your child is due to start, inviting you and your child to attend three stay and play sessions, where you will both be able to get to know the staff and children. School should be notified of any change of address and telephone numbers during this time.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ENTERING THE NURSERY DOES NOT GIVE YOUR CHILD A GUARANTEED PLACE IN THE MAIN SCHOOL IN THE SEPTEMBER AFTER THEY TURN 4.
All 3 to 4-year-old children in England can get 570 hours free childcare per year. It’s usually taken as 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year. You can get it from the term after your child’s 3rd birthday. Some 3 to 4-year-old children are eligible for 30 hours free childcare a week. To check if you are eligible for the extra 15 hours free childcare, please click here: Apply 30hours free tax free childcare - GOV.UK
We offer a number of 30-hour places, which can be used during the nursery hours of 8.30am to 3.30pm. We also offer breakfast club from 07.45am at a rate of £3.75 per day per child and includes a hot or cold breakfast every day, this is not part of the 30-hours and is chargeable.
Your free 30-hours entitlement must be used during our normal nursery hours of 8.30am to 3.15pm (for example: this will cover Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 3.15pm and Friday 8.30am to 11.30am). If you wish your child to attend Friday afternoon, this will be an additional charge of 3hrs 45mins (see charges below) and must be booked and paid for in advance on ParentPay.
Lunch is not provided, therefore we ask that your child brings a healthy packed lunch (no nuts), with their name clearly marked on their lunch bag or alternatively, a school dinner can be booked and paid for via our school dinner portal, Feeding Hungry Minds.
We also offer wraparound care on site, breakfast club and after school care. This can be booked and paid for, in advance, through ParentPay.
