Our Vision

In the Early Years Foundation Stage, we provide a caring, safe and stimulating environment where every child is supported to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for lifelong learning.

We recognise that the early years are a crucial period of development. Children learn rapidly during this time, and experiences in these formative years lay the foundations for future success. We build on children’s prior learning from home and work in partnership with parents to ensure a secure and confident start to school life.

In our Foundation Stage Unit, we strive to:

Provide a secure and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and confident to build strong relationships.

Deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that is personalised and engaging, ensuring all children make sustained progress from their starting points.

Prioritise communication and language development through high-quality interactions, rich texts, storytelling and purposeful talk.

Develop early literacy and mathematical understanding through structured teaching and meaningful opportunities within provision.

Promote personal, social and emotional development, encouraging cooperation, independence and respect for others.

Foster curiosity and critical thinking by offering first-hand experiences that inspire exploration and questioning.

Work in close partnership with parents to support each child’s development.

Maintain high expectations so that children are well prepared for the transition to Key Stage One and beyond.
